Candlelit Trails....to Apple

With "warmer" weather and "visions" of Christmas in our heads, we ventured out Friday night to super-packed luminary walk.

None of us had experienced such a thing - thousands of paper lanterns, adorning hundreds of miles of trails, through gardens and woods and around ponds.

It was a pretty cool site. Not only because they could light all of them - we kept wondering how long that took - but because they truly lit the trails and kept the place a'movin'.....to the festive light displays, outdoor entertainment (Native American flute player), to a hayrack ride in the dark where we sang Christmas caroles, to the new {super impressive} outdoor train garden to the jolly old man himself...Santa.

Our kids were pretty excited to see Santa. I wasn't sure how Ashlee would take to him this year, but sitting on his lap was just as much her idea as it was Tyler's {who needed to assure Santa - and perhaps himself - that he wasn't on the naughty list...and if he was to get dirt; that was fine by him because he likes dirt}.

Our kids are in love with Apple. Not the fruit {although they love that too}. But the company. The one that produces all things that begin with the little letter i and big letter P...iPod, iPad, iPhone...you get the idea.

Tops on both of their wish lists: wallets. Tyler wants one that looks like daddy's. Ashlee wants a purple one like mommy's.

Ashlee also wants a "big pink phone," which she later said was a princess phone or a Dora phone {I think that may have to do with some photos I took with my cell phone and forgot to delete, whoops!}.

Tyler also wants an iPod, iPad and iPhone. He'll be sadly upset when he realizes that most things that start with "iP" are made for mommy's and daddy's, or perhaps at least kids in upper elementary, not kindergarten!

Santa got a laugh out of both kid's wants {or perceived needs}. Yeah, forget the toys, just buy them stock in Apple. Go big or go home, they say!

*Note these were taken in the dark without a tripod so they are a bit fuzzy
